Apple is embarking on a significant expansion in domestic semiconductor production through a new multi-year partnership with Broadcom. This collaboration will see Apple channeling over $30 billion into the United States to manufacture more than 15 billion chips, thereby bolstering its American supply chain. In a notable component of this agreement, Broadcom plans to invest $1.5 billion to upgrade and expand its manufacturing facility in Fort Collins, Colorado. The facility will be dedicated to producing advanced radio frequency (RF) components, such as FBAR filters, which are integral in improving wireless performance and connectivity in Apple products. This development is anticipated to generate hundreds of jobs and support Apple’s broader efforts toward advanced domestic manufacturing.
